Alfa Romeo Giulia GT 1600 Junior – 1975

This 1975 Alfa Romeo GT 1600 Junior is an appealing example of the sophisticated Italian sporting coupe, which has recently been resprayed in the lesser-seen hue of Dutch Blue. Under the bonnet sits a 1.6-litre twin-cam inline-four, which sends power to the rear wheels via a slick-shifting five-speed manual transmission. The five-digit odometer currently displays 9, however this is not warranted.

This GT 1600 Junior is finished in Dutch Blue, while the cabin is trimmed in dark blue cloth and black vinyl, offset by wood veneer trim on the dashboard and transmission tunnel. It rides on a set of 14-inch steel wheels with polished hub caps, shod in Toyo tyres. Unlike many Alfa Romeos from this era, this car retains its original chrome bumpers. Ahead of the driver is a three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel, while other interior features include a full complement of Jaeger dials, and an ash tray.

The car will be accompanied by a history folder with evidence of the maintenance carried out from previous owners, as well as a full-size spare wheel.

This GT 1600 Junior’s latest service was carried out at an indicated 9, 100 km. The work included an engine oil and filter change, replacement of the brake fluid, and the intake rubber for the carburettors. Prior to this, the car was repainted during the summer of 2022, when the Alfa Romeo badges were replaced, along with a number of rubber seals and polished trim strips.

This Alfa Romeo GT 1600 Junior is a fine example of the breed, benefiting from prior refurbishment and finished in a stylish and lesser-seen colour scheme. Benefitting from a recent major service and presented in good order throughout, this example will no doubt make a characterful companion on any winding road.
