The Ferrari 360 was the first junior Ferrari designed from the outset with a Spider variant in mind—a significant leap forward compared to its predecessor. Pininfarina’s radical new bodywork was crafted almost entirely from aluminium panels riveted to the chassis, contributing to a remarkable achievement: the 360 generated four times as much downforce as the preceding F355. Notably, exceptions to the aluminium construction were the fibreglass bumpers and side skirts. The 360 featured independent suspension and electronically controlled Sachs dampers, allowing the driver to choose between Sport and Normal damper settings via a button on the centre console.
Beneath the glass engine cover was the naturally aspirated Tipo F131B V8 engine, an enlarged and uprated evolution of the superb power unit created for the F355.
As the whole world rushed towards modernity, the majority of the 7579 Spiders produced was delivered with the far from perfected Automated F1 gearbox. This makes the Manual gearbox Spider we offer here, one of only 2119 examples produced, exceedingly rare and collectible.
With prices of manual F430s often reaching twice that of their F1 gearbox counterparts, the manual 360 not only delivers a driving experience unlikely to ever be replicated, but it also represents true value and a sound investment, holding the distinction of being the second-to-last naturally aspirated mid-engine V8 manual car Ferrari ever produced.
This Motorcar
This particular car was delivered new to its first owner by Ferrari Deutschland in Munich. It was tastefully specified with the now-sought-after option of a manual gearbox, alongside the classic Ferrari colour combination of a Rosso Corsa exterior paired beautifully with a Nero leather interior, Daytona seats, Alluminio-coloured callipers, and a matching black soft top. Notably, Scuderia side shields and a Challenge Stradale rear grill have been retrofitted, all using original Ferrari parts.
The car remained in Munich until April 2005, when it was imported to Sweden. Since then, it has been owned by four different individuals, all of whom have kept the car well-maintained, as evidenced by the frequently stamped service book. Since its arrival in Sweden, it has undergone eight services at the authorised Ferrari workshop Autoropa and four at MOTIKON partner and Italian sports car specialists EB Auto.
When MOTIKON acquired the car in June 2024, we conducted a mechanical test on the vehicle, ensuring the car presents as well mechanically as it does cosmetically. A full 50,000km in house service, which includes a timing belt replacement, will be included in the sale.
To conclude, we present a fantastically preserved and meticulously maintained example of one of the last analog Ferraris. Included in the sale are various invoices, inspection papers, Ferrari literature and service book.
