Ferrari 575M F1 – 2002

During the mid-1990s, under the leadership of Luca di Montezemolo, Ferrari made a significant effort to revive its once-revered line of traditional front-engined Grand Tourers. The Ferrari 550 was born. Styled by Pininfarina, like its illustrious ‘Daytona’ predecessor, the 550 Maranello was similarly proportioned, adopting the classic Ferrari formula of a front-mounted V12 engine. The body’s aerodynamics were developed in a wind tunnel, where hours of testing ensured minimal drag combined with constant downforce, regardless of the setup—an important consideration for a car capable of 320 km/h.

By the years leading up to 2002, competitors had begun to close in on the 550s performance. Ferrari once again raised the stakes with the introduction of the 575M (M for Modificata, not to be confused with Maranello). The 575M was a sharper, faster, and lighter Grand Tourer. With its advanced electronic adaptive damper control system, the car could instantly adjust to varying road conditions. Weight was reduced to 1,730 kg, and special attention was given to improving the brakes, which featured larger Brembo cross-drilled and ventilated discs.

This Motorcar

This Ferrari 575M was delivered new to the Swedish market in a stunning specification: Nero exterior elegantly paired with a tan interior. The car was handed over to its first owner on August 13, 2002, via the Ferrari dealership Palmstierna Bil in Stockholm. Since then, it has been serviced as needed, with the majority of maintenance carried out at the authorised Ferrari workshop Autoropa.

Since acquiring the car in January 2025, MOTIKON has addressed the common issue of sticky buttons and performed a major service, including a cambelt replacement. The Ferrari 575M is now ready for its next grand tour.
