Ferrari Testarossa – 1988

The Ferrari Testarossa, an icon of 1980s automotive design and performance, a car synonymous with what we love most about outlandish Italian design and engineering. It left an indelible mark on popular culture. 

Introduced in 1984, the Testarossa was an instant classic. The iconic design was a response to the predecessor 512BB’s limitations, mainly due to front-mounted water radiators. These radiators eliminated front luggage space and caused cabin heating due to hot water plumbing. To address this, side-mounted radiators were adopted, widening the car by almost six inches at the rear. Rather than attempting to disguise this width with styling tricks, the chosen design of Emmanuelle Nicosia, reveled in it with the full-width, squared-off rump, flat surfaces and the massive side scoops giving the Testarossa its legendary form. Powered by a mid-mounted, 4.9-liter flat-twelve engine, the Testarossa could sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just over five seconds and reach a top speed of around 180 mph, making it one of the fastest production cars of its era. 

This Motorcar

This Testarossa was originally delivered to the Belgian market and handed over to its first owner on February 26, 1988, through the Ferrari dealership Garage Francorchamps in Brussels. The car came in the highly sought-after white exterior paint, “Bianco,” made iconic by Miami Vice and The Wolf of Wall Street. It rides on “Monodado” single-nut wheels.

Service records from the early years include stamps from Kroymans Ferrari, Novarobel S.A., and Ferrari Antwerpen. In 1993, the car was imported to Sweden, where it has remained ever since, with only one owner from 1995, who used it sparingly until MOTIKON acquired the car in 2022.

To bring the Testarossa to the impeccable condition we demand for all our cars, MOTIKON carried out a complete overhaul and major service during 2022-2023. The following work was completed:

• Removal of window lifts, cleaning, repairing of electric motor
• Replacement of fuel hoses
• Replacement of tires
