The Porsche 911 Ölklappe is one of the most recognisable early 911 variants. Built for the 1972 model year only, it is nicknamed “Ölklappe” because of its unique external oil filler flap on the right rear wing. Porsche relocated the oil tank to improve weight distribution, but the idea was abandoned after one year. Today, the 1972 Ölklappe is especially sought after for its one-year-only design.
This 911S “Ölklappe” was hand-built at Porsche’s factory in Zuffenhausen and delivered new in a gorgeous Tangerine colour in 1972. Factory options included a 5-speed manual gearbox and a sunroof. It is the 1,575th of just 1,750 examples built that year.
In 2002, the car was imported to Belgium, where it remained in single ownership from 2005 until 2022. During this period, it underwent a full restoration by renowned Porsche specialist ATS, with invoices on file totalling €61,114.
In 2022, the car was sold to a Swedish Porsche collector and imported to Sweden. Since then, it has remained in his collection and has been used only sparingly. Now, this beautiful Ölklappe is ready for its next custodian.
