  • This magnificent 1992 Porsche 928 is in the shape of the final iteration GTS with the popular 4-speed Mercedes-Benz sourced automatic. The Amethyst Metallic paint is characteristic of this era of Porsches and goes well with the black interior.

This 928 GTS has been through the Porsche Exklusiv Manufaktur program and has been driven sparingly, with a smidge over 53 000 kilometers under its belt. Its history is well-documented, it was always owned within the same family! Each and everyone has been a true enthusiast, as indicated by the mileage and receipts.

It was sold new in Sweden and has remained there throughout its 30 years on the road. It was delivered new on September 16th, 1992. It comes equipped with heated seats, a sunroof, sports shock absorbers, and draped leather seats.

As per the Porsche Press Archive, less than 3 000 GTS models were built between 1992 and 1995, making this 928 GTS a well-revered example. A lot of 928s were driven long distances on the Autobahn, making this specimen a rare example indeed.

The well-liked automatic gearbox makes the most of the 928 GTS’ grand touring pedigree, making it an excellent companion on your next road trip. Our workshop has thoroughly inspected the car, which is in entirely original condition. The state of the exterior and interior indicate that this 928 GTS has been treasured by its previous owners, as indicated by the odometer reading.

It is only a matter of getting behind the wheel and hitting the open road.

In 1978, the 928 was launched as an attempt to counter the slumping sales of the 911 and was ultimately penned as a replacement. At launch, the new front-engined Porsche grand tourer commanded a heftier price tag and promised the driving dynamics of a sports car with the luxury and refinement of a luxury sedan.

It took the automotive stage as Porsche’s flagship model, and even though the 911 ultimately never disappeared, the 928 stayed in production for 18 whole years, wherein continuous improvements and updates were made.

The GTS represented the last breed of the 928 and debuted in 1992 with a new 5.4-liter V8, a more robust manual gearbox, changed bodywork, and uprated front brakes. At the time, it was one of the most expensive road cars for sale. In addition, the transaxle layout aided weight distribution and, thus, handling, something the GTS model certainly took advantage of with all its might.
